Scalability, Flexible and Reliability
From a maximum port number of 1152/768/384 ports at CO sites to 192/48/24/12 ports at remote cabinet or PoP, the ZyXEL IES
series is a cost effective solution for operators/service providers who require different deployment applications with scalability
for future expansion.
The temperature-hardened design for medium to low port density devices facilitate the deployment of Fiber-to-the-Node (FTTN)
and Fiber-to-the-Curb (FTTC) access infrastructure for the requirements of the rapidly increasing transmission bandwidth.
As the standard power input, all models come with DC power. For selected models, AC power input is also available for various
installation requirements.
Flexible Uplink and Fast Recovery Mechanism
All ZyXEL Multiple Service Access Platforms are equipped with at least two Gigabit uplink ports to fulfill the requirements of a
ring or tree topology. The Management and Switching Cards (MSC) provide layer 2+ switching features, redundant and recovery
functionality. The SFP and 1000BaseT combo port design allows for subtending.

Full-range DSL Speed Offering
All IP Express models offer ADSL2+/G.SHDSL.bis/VDSL2 technologies in the last mile applications. Downstream speeds range
from 128 Kbps to up to 24 Mbps and the loop-reach can extend up to 5.4 Km with ADSL2+. In addition, the new VDSL2
technology supports up to 100Mbps downstream and 45 Mbps upstream.
Triple Play
With over 600,000 ports deployed in video streaming environments, the ZyXEL IES series provides comprehensive QoS such as
WFQ, SPQ as well as IPTV related features including IGMP snooping, proxy and fast leave. The distributed implementation of
multicasting, MVLAN, also enables easy service activation and subscription.
Security
In additional to basic MAC filtering and snooping features, the ZyXEL IES series also provides IP-aware bridge with IP snooping
and ACL to securely bridge large layer-2 domains.
DHCP option 82 relay, PPPoEoA, TACACS+ features provide user authentication in new and legacy networks.
End-to-end Management Minimizes Operation Cost
Besides basic configuration, fault, security, and performance management, ZyXEL provides a software management tool, NetAtlas
Access EMS that allows for advanced remote management of IES devices. This powerful tool helps service providers minimize
daily operational costs. Diagnostic features such as loop-back testing helps isolate network problems, while new firmware and IP
Express configuration allow for changes to be done remotely, eliminating the need for “truck rolls” in order to provision new
customers or to reconfigure service settings for existing customers.
